Classic High Mountain Adventure

The century old Haute Route is one of the most well-known trails connecting two of the famous resorts in Europe: Chamonix and Zermatt.  It’s on every avid skier’s bucket list and no wonder; staying in mountain top cabins, travelling through stunning Alpine scenery and enjoying some real backcountry skiing, this is certainly an experience to savour.

5 Day Tour

We normally recommend a 5-day trip from Argentière (Chamonix) to Zermatt although we can tailor a trip to suit your group. Expect a good 4 to 6 hours of walking on skins each day with some more intense climbing sections at various points. This is not a technical climb but we do recommend you are fit and have some touring experience. There is some downhill skiing and any powder along the way is a bonus!

Classic Mountain Huts

You’ll be staying in rustic mountain huts. You may be sleeping in basic bunk rooms with no showers, but a hearty meal and a wonderful atmosphere awaits. Depending on the route we use you’ll likely stay in some of the classics including the Prafleurie Hut, Cabane des Vignettes and Cabane de Bertol.
