Skiing in Revelstoke

With over 16 metres of snow expected each year, it’s no surprise they decided to develop North America’s largest vertical ski hill in Revelstoke. There are over 100 ski runs – accessible by three high speed chairs and an 8 passenger gondola – offering extremely varied terrain which is perfect for a heli skiing warm up.

Revelstoke is most convenient for the following CMH areas: Galena, Gothics, Kootenay, Cariboos, Monashees & Revelstoke.

Powder Skiing Watch

Powder days aren’t rare in Revelstoke – and a hike up to Sub Peak (a 40-minute lung-buster) will give you access to the North Bowl – the perfect powder playground. For those not wishing to hike, note that the Stoke Chair takes you to the highest point in the resort; and from here you can take the top-to-bottom Pitch Black’ run which we highly recommend.

How to get there?

Kelowna, just an hour’s internal flight from Calgary or Vancouver, is the nearest airport to Revelstoke. Shuttle buses from Kelowna Airport take 2.5 hours to get to the resort however they are not very regular so the most flexible and convenient way of getting there is by a private transfer or a hire car.

Pure Powder Recommends

Each suite has its own balcony boasting exceptional views of the mountains and the Columbia RiverThere are two restaurants on-site as well as a café and ski shop so you have everything that you need on your doorstep.

For Alternative Stays…

Best Western PLUS

Situated just outside town, this hotel has large, modern bedrooms and a swimming pool to sooth those aching muscles after a long ski day. Buses run regularly to the slopes and they also provide a free shuttle into town for easy access to restaurants and bars for après.

The Explorer’s Society

The Explorer’s Society is Revelstoke’s premier boutique hotel; it has 9 bedrooms, a private rooftop guest lounge and an acclaimed in-house restaurant. This hotel is situated in the centre of town and is ideal for those who are after a little bit of added luxury to their trip.

Pure Powder Loves

Taking a break from the mountain and getting stuck into some axethrowing in Revelstoke town.
The high speed lifts in Revelstoke, although there are only 3 lifts to service the whole hill, prepare for little rest time!

Things to consider

– The ski hill is a short drive from downtown Revelstoke so you will need to decide if you want to base yourself at the mountain base (convenient for skiing) or in town, close to the bars and restaurants.
Shuttles from Kelowna don’t run very often and private transfers can be expensive.
